YouthNet’s Understanding Mental Health workshop for Teens

This workshop explores the topics of mental health and mental illness, the issue of stigma, and discusses effective ways of promoting mental wellness. We create healthy and interactive discussions that focus on learning positive coping strategies and learning lifestyles that help increase mental wellness. For ages 13-20.

Volunteering With After 4 at OSCA

OSCA’s After School Program is a great opportunity for youth to contribute to the community while learning skills they can apply in a variety of environments. Volunteers receive hands-on training comprehensive experience in: children’s programming, group dynamics and group control, safety, team building, leadership, ages and stages, and much more.  Students may also use volunteer hours toward the Ontario High School Community Service Program.  A police check will be required for all volunteers prior to placement.  Students must complete on-line and on-site training before being offered a position. Placement is not guaranteed.

When Glebe Collegiate Institute first opened its doors to students in 1922, World War I had ended just four years earlier. The mood was celebratory, the Jazz Age was in full swing.

On Friday October 28, the cafeteria at Glebe Collegiate will be transformed into a 1920s Jazz Club where alumni, current and former staff, students, parents, and community friends will gather to celebrate Glebe Collegiate’s first decade – the roaring twenties.
