June 2016 Council Meeting

2016-06-06 19:00

For those who have not heard through your son or daughter yet, we  wanted to let you know that our Principal, France Thibault, will be taking on the duties of a OCDSB Superintendent starting in September.  This is great news for the many students who will be in her area, however, we will miss her tremendously at Glebe Collegiate Institute.
At our meeting tomorrow, we'll have the opportunity to say goodbye to France and to say hello to our new Principal (starting September 2016), Steven Massey. Steven has plenty of relevant experience and I'm sure that he'll be a terrific addition to Glebe.

Free Math Help (from the OCDSB)

Parents looking for resources to help support your child's learning might be interested in the following resources:

  • ONLINE MATH TOOLS: The OCDSB has recently launched a new suite of tools and resources, organized by grade groupings, to support home and school collaboration in mathematics. These resources help students build skills and stamina and can be used with a parent/guardian or independently at home. Take a look.
  • NUMERACY GUIDE FOR PARENTS: The OCDSB has an excellent Numeracy Guide for Parents which helps parents understand how math instruction is provided and how students can be supported in their learning at home.
  • HOMEWORK HELP: Homework Help is an online math help resource for students in Grades 7-10. Homework Help provides FREE, live one-on-one tutoring from Ontario teachers. Homework Help is funded by the Ontario government and administered by TVO. Students can ask their math questions during our chat room hours - Sunday - Thursday 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m..
