Ottawa Citizen: Ottawa schools grapple with the Exam Question: Are they a) outdated or b) essential?

From an article in the Citizen on Friday:

Glebe Collegiate Institute has earned a city-wide reputation as a leader in the development and use of alternative testing methods.

Principal France Thibault says the school has embraced that effort as part of a drive to make the classroom experience more compelling. The school, she says, tries to inject critical thinking, problem solving, and student-based inquiry — an approach that capitalizes on students’ natural sense of wonder — into all of its classes.

November Council Meeting

Please plan to join us on Monday November 9, at 7:00 pm, in the Glebe Collegiate library for our School Council meeting.  During this meeting, we will hear from Principal Thibault, a Co-Chair of Student Council, our new Fundraising committee, as well as the student organizers of prom.  There will be many relevant updates and, as always, some very interesting discussion.
